Community Schools Overview

Community Schools Evening Programs

Community Education provides recreational activities for all citizens of Monongalia County and surrounding areas from high school students to senior citizens.  Classes are established throughout the county in various schools.  The goal of Community Education is to develop a partnership between the community and the public school system, while providing a variety of educational activities for all age groups.  Community resources are linked to community needs to help improve the quality of life for local citizens.

Unless otherwise indicated, community school students must be at least 16 before they are permitted to enroll in a class.  Classes with other age or grade level restrictions are so indicated in the course schedules.

Registration is taken Monday through Thursday from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at MTEC beginning on the dates listed on the website, and in “It’s Your Turn” (the course schedule for Adult and Community Education).
