Financial Aid Administrator
I’m Karen Martinez, Financial Aid Advisor/Counselor at MTEC. As the title implies, my responsibilities include managing and administering the financial aid for adult students at MTEC.

I’m also an attendee at College Fairs and Career Fairs in the area. On occasion, I tour prospective students on the MTEC campus.
Pierpont Community & Technical College utilizes MTEC as a branch campus and I work closely with personnel at Pierpont regarding EDGE (Earn a Degree Graduate Early) credits.
MTEC students can transfer college credits to Pierpont C&TC.
Financial Aid involves many aspects including the various forms, procedures and electronic processing. Financial aid accepted at MTEC includes the following:
Pell Grants through FAFSA application
Workforce Investment Act (WIA)
MTEC also accepts United Mine Workers Association (UMWA) and 529 College Savings Plan funding.
MTEC DOES NOT PROCESS STAFFORD LOANS THROUGH THE FAFSA APPLICATION.
