Adult HVAC Daytime Program
HVAC Technician (previously Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Technology)
(900 Clock-Hour Certificate)
HVAC Technician consists of 900 hours of instruction in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of residential and commercial heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment. HVAC Technician is now certified through NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research).
Students prepare for recovery and recycling Section 608 EPA Section 609 (Automobile) EPA, 410A certification and the WV apprentice electrical test. Beginning 2012-2013, the HVAC Tech program will be taught using NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) curriculum; students will have the opportunity to gain industry-recognized credentials in the form of a wallet card, transcript and certificate.
In addition, students will have the opportunity to participate in:
SkillsUSA Club (America’s largest student co-curricular organization)—attending and participating in business-style meetings and competing in skill-related contests.
Students also have the opportunity to join in with other students to raise funds for their various activities. Past events included Longaberger Basket Bingo, Buckwheat Festival, serving concessions at WVU functions.
