WVDE Connects with MedEd Program

As part of their Keeping Connected series, the WV Department of Education highlights the the MedEd Program at Morgantown High School during National CTE Month. The program serves as a model for the future of immersive STEM & CTE learning and teaching in Monongalia County.

The MedEd program is funded through a $4.7 million grant awarded by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC). MedEd students receive their clinical training at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital through WVU Medicine and will receive paid training during the last semester of their senior year.  Students are afforded opportunities for immediate employment upon graduation and/or will have received an academic and clinical jump start towards pursuits in higher education.
